A State Duma deputy invited “European bureaucrats” to visit Russia to exchange experiences

The decisions taken by Russia to protect its sovereignty in the matter of working with foreign agents are effective and justified. This statement was made by the head of the State Duma of the Russian Federation commission to investigate foreign interference in the internal affairs of the country Vasily Piskarev in his Telegram channel.

Earlier, the parliamentarian reported that the European Commission had adopted the so-called “Democracy Protection Package” – it provides for measures to register foreign agents and monitor their activities. In particular, it will affect representatives of non-EU states: such persons will be required to register in the Transparency Register and observe “democratic accountability.”

“In this situation, the only thing we can kindly offer to European bureaucrats is to visit our country on an official visit and exchange legislative experience on regulating the activities of foreign agents,” he wrote.

The State Duma deputy noted that in Russia the requirements for such persons are simple: register, make foreign funding transparent and report on their activities.

“The decisions that our country makes to protect its sovereignty are effective and justified,” Piskarev said, adding that “there is still something to think about.”

In particular, according to him, “foreign agents have adapted well to additional income, making a profit from advertisers on their sites.”

“Aren’t you enjoying your status too much?” – he added.

In 2023, according to the head of the Russian State Duma commission to investigate foreign interference in the internal affairs of Russia, new mechanisms to counter foreign interference were developed in the United States of America, Canada, Great Britain, France, Australia, Hungary, Poland and at the European Parliament.
