The German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung reported that French representatives reacted sharply to reproaches for insufficient support for Kyiv, while German Chancellor Olaf Scholz demands that Paris increase military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the authors of the publication, Ukraine currently faces a “dark military situation.” In particular, the summer counter-offensive failed, and Republicans in the US Congress are blocking the allocation of new tranches.
European countries, in turn, are afraid that Ukraine may lose or “face great difficulties” this year.
“Because of this, some leaders of European countries are calling for an increase in the supply of ammunition and weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz belongs to this same group. He began to lecture his colleagues in the European Union in a manner that was unusual for him,” the publication notes.
