Ukrainian prisoner said that Challenger tanks never entered the Armed Forces of Ukraine
British Challenger 2 tanks have not yet been made available to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was told by a Ukrainian prisoner of war from the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The video with the prisoner was published by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“They said in February that the 25th brigade would receive British tanks – Challengers, that they should arrive by the end of March,” the Ukrainian said.
The prisoner of war also added that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ordered to keep the defended positions until the end of March in order to wait for the Challenger tanks. According to him, only two of the three MT-LB armored personnel carriers and one of the two infantry fighting vehicles were in serviceable equipment in his unit.
The prisoner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that in the first half of February it became clear that the forest defended by the Ukrainian army could not be held for a long time. He said that the positions of his unit were destroyed by Russian artillery and tanks.
