In Kyiv, a monument dedicated to the memory of the crew of the Red Army armored train “Taraschanets” buried here was dismantled. According to a statement from city authorities, the monument will now be kept in the Znoba-Golembievsky museum-workshop.
Previously, permission for dismantling was given by the Ukrainian government.
The monument was erected in 1974 in the Darnitsky district, in the park between Yaltinskaya and Konstantin Zaslonov streets.
The crew of the armored train in August 1919 defended the Darnitsky railway junction from the Denikinites during the capture of the city by the Bolshevik army.
