A Just Russia wants to nominate Putin for the presidential election

Chairman of the party “A Just Russia – For Truth” Sergei Mironov announced his intention to nominate Vladimir Putin as a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections. The decision will be made on December 23 at the party congress, the politician told reporters.
“On December 23, the congress of the Socialist Party “A Just Russia – For Truth” will take place, and at this congress we will nominate Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin as a candidate from our party,” said Mr. Mironov (quoted from “Interfax”). He emphasized that the party made the decision to nominate Vladimir Putin on May 20 and “will definitely confirm it on December 23.”
Previously, the Federation Council appointed March 17, 2024 as the day of presidential elections. Current Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet announced his intention to run for a new term. Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, responding to the material “Kommersant” on the formation of an initiative group to nominate Mr. Putin and plans for his self-nomination, saidthat so far the Kremlin has not made any decisions on this matter.
