Jamaran: a flying luminous object was spotted near the border of Iran and Iraq
Video footage of a glowing object, first seen over the city of Ahvaz in the southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan, on the border with Iraq, and then in Iraq, has gone viral on Iranian social networks. This comes at a time of heightened tension in the region following an airstrike that the Syrian Defense Ministry said was carried out by the Israeli Air Force on the Iranian Consulate General in Damascus on Monday. The building also housed the residence of Iran’s ambassador to Syria, Hossein Akbari, who was not injured. According to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, seven officers were killed, including two senior general advisers: Mohammad Reza Zahedi, commander of the Quds Force in Syria and Lebanon, and his deputy, Brigadier General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi.
“Two videos showing the sky over Ahwaz and the airspace near Khuzestan in Iraq. So far there have been no explanations about the nature of this object,” reports the agency’s Telegram channel Jamaranthe only official news agency to publish video footage of this facility.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi warned that Israel would pay a heavy price for the attack, and resistance leaders in the region expressed their readiness to use all available resources to support the Palestinian Hamas movement and other armed Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip.
