A fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who is in the LPR found out that the command does not recognize him as a prisoner

Captured Ukrainian soldier Sergei Mishchan, during a conversation with his relatives, which was organized with the assistance of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the LPR, Victoria Serdyukova, learned that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refuses to recognize him as a prisoner of war, RIA Novosti reports.
Mishchan’s girlfriend said that the commander of the battalion where the soldier served said that such a surname was not on his lists. “I say your last name, but he says that we don’t have one,” she said.
Sergei Mishchan is now in one of the correctional institutions in the LPR, the agency notes. “All the same, it’s good, look – alive, healthy and even ate cheeks,” he told his girlfriend.
Mishchan noted the humane attitude towards Ukrainian prisoners. At the same time, during the conversation, he said more than once that the command of the battalion was organized extremely poorly and it is not surprising that the leadership does not take any action for the sake of the prisoners.
“They threw us into position and didn’t help us,” he said. About the commander, he said that he “came to the position only once … stayed for two hours and left”
According to Mishchan, he was trained in the UK, but it did not help him. He said that 13 Ukrainian soldiers, trained by British instructors, surrendered in the first battle. According to him, his unit was armed only with Degtyarev machine guns of 1933, which could fire at the most inopportune moment.
