A “fascist” scandal occurred in the Bulgarian parliament when discussing assistance to Kyiv

Bulgarian National Radio reported an incident in the Bulgarian People’s Assembly during a discussion about financial support for Ukraine. As a result, the Bulgarian parliament ratified an agreement with the European Commission to provide the second tranche of assistance to Kyiv in the amount of 3.6 billion euros. At the same time, Bulgaria must provide guarantees for 16 billion euros. 48 deputies opposed it and the discussion was heated.

So the need to part with such a significant amount for Bulgaria led to a dispute between the leader of the pro-Russian Revival party Kostadin Kostadinov and Deputy Speaker Rositsa Kirova. The co-chairman of the “Continue Change” and “Democratic Bulgaria” factions, Atanas Atanasov, also took part in the skirmish.

So Kostadinov said that Bulgaria has already transferred billions to Ukraine, and Bulgarian babies get stotinki (a small change, a hundredth of a leva – Ed.). “Shame on the current government and the ruling fascist regime,” the politician added.

Kirova then called Kostadinov to order, and Atanasov, a representative of the ruling party, noted that he was being called a fascist by people who “themselves behave like a fascist.”
