Not all residents can return to their apartments yet
The famous scientist-physiologist, writer Vladimir Skrebitsky was evacuated during a strong fire in two residential buildings on Chernyakhovsky Street.
As the 89-year-old scientist himself, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said, at first he did not leave the apartment, since the epicenter of the fire was quite far from his home. “I live on the third floor, far from the roof,” he explained. However, soon the heating turned off in the house and it became cold. Therefore, Vladimir Georgievich agreed to the proposal to temporarily move to a social hotel.
Other residents of buildings 4 and 4a are now trying to get into their apartments to assess the extent of the damage. As a MK reporter reports from the scene, a resident of an apartment on the top, 7th floor fears for the condition of the ceiling. “The firemen told me that the apartment was flooded with water, everything was dripping from the chandelier. And on the stairs the ceiling is in such a state that there is a danger of it collapsing. We are not allowed into the apartment yet.”
Employees of the Airport District Administration are conducting a door-to-door tour of the building to determine the extent of the destruction.
