Three State Duma deputies from the United Russia party Andrey Kartapolov, Vasily Piskarev and Alexander Khinshtein introduced a bill giving the Russian Guard the right to have heavy military equipment in service.
The bill provides for amendments to the federal law “On the troops of the national guard”, follows from the published explanatory notes.
It is proposed to replace in the current law the term “weapon” (devices and objects designed to destroy a live or other target) with the term “weapons” (a set of weapons and technical means of their use).
The term “military equipment” (the main part of military equipment intended for combat) is proposed to be replaced by the term “military equipment” (various technical equipment that troops are equipped with for combat and daily activities).
June 27 Head of the Russian Guard Viktor Zolotov declaredthat his department will soon have heavy equipment, including its own tanks. According to him, he discussed this issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He did not name approximate dates for receiving weapons.
After that, messages appeared on Telegram channels about the possible transfer of Wagner PMC equipment to the Russian Guard, but deputy Alexander Khinshtein denied this information and clarified that the equipment for the needs of the department would be purchased as part of the state defense order.
