A new district will appear in Grozny, which will be named after Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced this. Yesterday, February 15, he got acquainted with the progress of work in the central part of the city.

“Large-scale construction is underway here, upon completion of which a new area will appear. It will be named in honor of our national leader, the most outstanding political figure of our time, Russian President Vladimir Putin,” Mr. Kadyrov wrote in Telegram.

According to him, the area will be located on an area of over 200 hectares. There will be 130 apartment buildings, as well as mosques, kindergartens and other social infrastructure facilities. The head of Chechnya claims that there are already buyers for 40% of the housing being built.

In 2008, the central avenue of Grozny was renamed Putin Avenue. In addition, there are four districts in Grozny, which in 2020, on behalf of Ramzan Kadyrov, were renamed in honor of the national heroes of Chechnya – these are the Akhmatovsky, Baisangursky, Sheikh-Mansurovsky and Visaitovsky districts.
