Colonel of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleg Babiy was killed on Russian territory. This was reported on the website of the Ukrainian intelligence agency.
The department indicates that the officer was eliminated on August 30, 2023. His group was ambushed while returning from a sabotage mission on Russian territory.
It is also noted that Babiy made nine forays into Russia as part of a reconnaissance group, covering a total of over 600 kilometers.
Let us add that the Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet commented on or confirmed this information.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov spoke out about Ukraine’s territorial claims on Russian territory.
