The Nativity Choral Council, in which eight church and military creative choral and song groups took part, took place in the Main Church of the Armed Forces – the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ. Participants include, for example, the Orthodox choir and the ensemble of engineering troops “For Faith and Fatherland”; Choir of the Military Institute (military conductors) of the Military University; Preobrazhensky and Chamber choirs of the parishioners of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and other groups.
The program includes works of Christian sacred music and Christmas carols. The listeners were military personnel – members of the Military Military District and parishioners of the Main Church of the Armed Forces. As Deputy Minister of Defense – Head of the Main Military-Political Directorate, Colonel General Viktor Goremykin said, the revived tradition of choir councils is intended to serve the preservation of Orthodox traditions. The choir cathedral glorifies the Russian army and service to the Fatherland.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, on January 20, a Choral Council will be held for the first time in the Kronstadt Naval St. Nicholas Cathedral. Creative groups from the Western Military District and St. Petersburg will take part in it.
