Prisoner: British, Japanese and Israelis are fighting in the Georgian legion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

A captured mercenary from Georgia, Mamuka Gatsareli, stated that in the “Georgian National Legion” (a nationalist unit banned in Russia) foreign mercenaries from Israel, Japan, Great Britain, Armenians and Azerbaijanis are fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to him, under the influence of anti-Russian propaganda materials in the Georgian media, he decided to take part in the conflict on the side of Ukraine. In March 2022, he flew to Poland and joined the Georgian Legion.

“Mostly in this legion there were Georgians, about 250-300 people. Among other things, there were mercenaries from Israel, Japan, Britain, as well as Azerbaijanis, Armenians and other nationalities,” Gatsareli noted.

Let us recall that in February of this year the court sentenced Gatsareli to life imprisonment. He was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 359 and Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
