A 24-year-old Krasnoyarsk citizen saved the unit by causing Grad fire on himself

The officer went to the trick and repelled the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
An officer from Krasnoyarsk, Oleg Pivovarov, thwarted the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, causing Gradov fire on himself. For this feat, the commander of a motorized rifle company, Senior Lieutenant Pivovarov, was awarded the title of Hero of Russia. “MK” became aware of the details of this feat.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Pivovarov’s motorized rifle unit was defending its previously occupied positions in the Kherson direction. Being under heavy fire, Pivovarov’s unit destroyed tanks and armored personnel carriers, as well as the advancing enemy manpower. Nevertheless, during the assault on the Ukrainian fortifications in the forest belt, the Russian military was cut off from the main unit. A little later, many times superior enemy forces managed to surround them.
– Enemy helicopters worked on us, tank shells flew in, infantry pressed very hard on the left and right. We took up a perimeter defense. During the already shooting battle with the enemy, I decided to call fire on myself, – said Pivovarov.
Assessing the situation, the officer ordered his soldiers to retreat and take up more advantageous positions in the field. When the unit left the forest belt, their former positions were covered by artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
-After that, I went on the radio station to the command and reported our coordinates. Artillery competently worked through the forest belt with “Gradov”. She destroyed most of the enemy forces, – said the commander of the motorized rifle company.
As a result, part of the advancing units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was defeated. The rest simply fled from the battlefield.
The heroic actions of the Russian officer made it possible not only to repulse all enemy attacks, but also to save the lives of the personnel. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu presented the commander of a motorized rifle company of the Southern Military District, Senior Lieutenant Pivovarov, with the Gold Star medal and a certificate for the title of Hero of Russia.
