The Chairman of the Government of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, instructed to eliminate the queues at certain checkpoints due to the growth of migration from the Russian Federation, his press service reported.
During the meeting on migration issues, the Prime Minister noted that there are still queues of people wishing to cross the border at certain checkpoints.
Smailov instructed, together with the Russian border service, to develop a single algorithm capable of unloading crowds. “Because it causes a negative reaction from business and the population,” the prime minister stressed.
The busiest border points will be expanded on his behalf. It is necessary, first of all, to provide a permanent “green corridor” for Kazakh citizens, the press service said. In addition, organized mobile teams will operate to identify undocumented migrants.
At the moment, separate road lanes have been allocated at checkpoints where there is an appropriate infrastructure. Thus, the distribution is carried out in three streams – for citizens of Kazakhstan, freight transport and foreigners.
