“Mir” cards will stop working in most banks in Armenia
As a representative of VTB Armenia told reporters, cards from the Russian payment system Mir will stop working in most ATMs in the country.
He clarified that this decision will come into force on March 30. It is associated with the introduction of another package of US sanctions against Russia, which included the Mir card operator and the National Payment Card System.
This information was also confirmed by informed sources in the Russian payment market.
“Mir cards will stop working in ATMs and POS terminals of most banks in Armenia from March 30… The exception will be the infrastructure of VTB Armenia Bank (a subsidiary of the Russian VTB),” the message says.
