The head of the FLGR Vyalbe criticized the storage of doping samples for ten years
President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation Elena Vyalbe ironically proposed awarding Olympic Games medals posthumously, since at the moment doping samples of various athletes are stored for many years.
Let us note that, according to the World Anti-Doping Code, some doping samples of athletes can be sent for long-term storage for up to ten years. Such actions are necessary for possible re-analysis of samples.
“We need to reconsider a lot. For example, this doping list, which only expands every year. Why do they store doping samples for eight to ten years? In this case, let’s hand over the copper posthumously,” Vyalbe noted.
According to her, all checks should take place at various competitions, and take a maximum of two to three months.
