The government promised to keep jobs for the mobilized and provide them with guarantees

Employment contracts previously concluded with mobilized citizens will be suspended, but not terminated. This is stated in a resolution signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“The employee’s job will remain, and he will be able to return to his usual duties at the same enterprise as before the service,” Mr. Mishustin explained during a meeting in the Cabinet (quote from site governments).

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova noted that the workers called up for mobilization receive the status of military personnel: “In this regard, they are provided with all the guarantees that military personnel have under the contract.” She also announced the preparation of “systemic amendments” to the legislation, which will be reflected in the Labor Code, laws on state and civil service and social insurance.

Ms. Golikova clarified that the new amendments will make it possible to include the period of military service in the length of service for the appointment of a pension. Legislative changes also provide for “special labor guarantees” for the families of mobilized citizens: if one of the parents is affected by the mobilization, then the second cannot be involved in overtime work or business trips without his consent.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in the country partial mobilization on 21 September. According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, it will affect up to 300,000 citizens.
