Concrete pyramids, ditches and bunkers: the Baltic countries are preparing for a Russian invasion

The Baltic countries are actively preparing for a possible invasion by the Russian army. According to The Times, the former Soviet republics are fortifying a thousand-kilometer stretch of their eastern borders, as this stretch is the most militarily vulnerable part of NATO’s flank.
The military of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are working to strengthen the so-called “Baltic defense line,” which includes a system of barriers, bunkers and other fortifications over a thousand kilometers.
Plans include spending significant amounts of money to create more than 600 bunkers along Estonia’s border with Russia. Each of them is expected to provide cover for about 10 soldiers and be protected from artillery strikes. In addition, it is planned to install ammunition depots, anti-tank mines, ditches, barbed wire and concrete obstacles known as “dragon’s teeth.”
