New Zealand rider Hannan was put into a medically induced coma after a terrible horse racing fall.
New Zealand professional rider Kelsey Hannan was put into a medically induced coma during a race in Australia, 7news reports.
After the 21-year-old finished her race on Sunday, she was thrown from her saddle by her horse after colliding with another animal. Hannan suffered a neck injury in the fall and was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Meanwhile, the athlete returned to racing just a few weeks ago – the rider spent three months recovering from a broken jaw.
After the incident, the remaining races at the races were postponed.
