Famous scientist-philosopher Lev Skvortsov dies in Moscow

The well-known Soviet and Russian philosopher, one of the leaders of INION (Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences) of the Russian Academy of Sciences Lev Skvortsov died on Tuesday morning in Moscow.
As it became known to MK, Lev Vladimirovich died at the age of 93 in his apartment on Spiridonovka Street. Skvortsov, Doctor of Philosophy, at one time gave a detailed analysis of the features of the so-called “panacea thinking”, which traditionally determined the mechanisms for connecting official ideology with mass consciousness. He was an adviser to the Minister of Culture of the USSR in the 70s-80s, assistant to the first deputy chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In 1988, he took the post of deputy director of INION, and also headed the Center for Humanitarian Scientific Information Research.
