In a poorly ranked duel between the bottom two of the championship, Saint-Etienne, reduced to 10, after an hour of play, snatched a draw against Pau (2-2) in the last match of the 7th day of Ligue 2. In a meeting that was closed for a long time and marred by faults, the Stéphanois opened the scoring on their first real chance, thanks to midfielder Louis Mouton (34th) well served with a backheel by the inevitable Jean-Philippe Krasso, top scorer in L2 (7 goals).
