The State Duma granted the Prosecutor General’s Office the right to receive payments under the state defense order

The State Duma adopted in the third, final reading a bill that will allow the Prosecutor General’s Office to gain access to payments under the state defense order. The supervisory agency will be given access to the Unified Information System, which contains these data.

The law should come into force 10 days after its official publication. Prior to its adoption, government customers, the Accounts Chamber, authorized banks, the federal executive body and several other departments could get access to this data.

The author of the initiative spoke Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). The FAS argued that the draft law would help “improve the effectiveness of prosecutorial supervision over the implementation of legislation,” as well as ensure the legal spending of the budget.

In January, Vladimir Putin urged the prosecutor’s office to strengthen supervision over the timely execution of the state defense order. At the beginning of March he signed a decree according to which, in the event of a declaration of martial law in companies that violate the terms of the state defense order, external management will be introduced. The rights of shareholders of such companies will be suspended.
