65% of Russians keep a piggy bank with coins at home

65% of Russians have a piggy bank with coins, said RBC with reference to the NAFI survey. 38% of Russians pay with them in stores, 28% – in transport. 77% of piggy bank owners are young Russians aged 18 to 24.
According to NAFI estimates, most often people under 24 years old use coins to pay at terminals and vending machines. Coins are used by Russians aged 25 to 34 to pay for public transport. Goods in stores are more often paid for with coins by people over 55 years old.
According to a NAFI study, 15% of respondents who have a piggy bank exchange coins in banks, at cash desks or in special machines. 10% give coins for donations, another 6% are credited to a bank account.
77% of respondents are young people from 18 to 24 years old. 72% of piggy bank owners are in good or excellent financial standing.
