The first All-Russian children’s and youth orienteering competitions for persons with musculoskeletal disorders were held in Pskov. This was reported to “MK in Pskov” in the press service of the administration of the regional center.
The competition brought together boys and girls from 9 to 18 years old – a total of about 30 athletes from Pskov, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, Lipetsk, Kirov, Rostov-on-Don, Kirov and the Republic of Karelia.
On August 19, the participants went through training orientation in the Pskov Botanical Garden. Then, on Saturday, August 20, the athletes competed in the “precise orientation” discipline on the territory of the Finnish Park. After that, they were waiting for a sprint (distance for the speed of decision making) in the Builders’ park.
In just two competitive days, six sets of medals were played. Pskovites showed worthy results.
Thus, the Pskov athlete Sergey Zakharov took third place in the O1-O3 class in the discipline of precise orientation and second place in the sprint. In class O4-O6 Nikita Zebrikov showed the third result.
Angelina Egorova from the Pskov region became the winner among girls in O4-O6 class and became the second in precision orienteering and the third in sprint.
