By 17:00 (16:00 Moscow time), 6,650 people had entered the territory of Armenia from Nagorno-Karabakh. About it reported press service of the Armenian government.
“The registration data for 5,580 of them has already been compiled, and the needs of 1,070 individuals are still being identified. The government provides all citizens who do not have a predetermined place of residence with appropriate housing,” the Cabinet of Ministers clarified.
Earlier, a meeting of representatives of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh was held in the city of Yevlakh, where the parties discussed the reintegration of the Armenian population of the region into Azerbaijani society.
President Ilham Aliyev said that this process should be successful. All those living in the Karabakh region are citizens of Azerbaijan, regardless of nationality, the leader added. According to him, during reintegration the republic will rely on the experience of Croatia.
Azerbaijan launched a military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 19 to “restore the constitutional order.” The next day, the authorities of the unrecognized republic announced the conclusion of agreements on a complete ceasefire.
