25 international companies relocated to Kazakhstan from Russia, 67 more are going

Kazakhstan is working on the relocation from Russia of international companies that have announced their withdrawal from the Russian market, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Almas Aidarov said. According to him, 25 have already completed the move, and another 67 are working on it.

“To date, 401 companies in which we are interested in moving to Kazakhstan, invitations have been sent to all these companies. … To date, 67 companies have responded positively to us, work is underway on them, and relocation has been completed for 25 companies. 38 countries are participating in this, mainly Germany, the United States, Switzerland and Japan,” Mr. Aidarov said during a government hour in the Senate of Kazakhstan (quoted from Interfax).

According to him, among the companies that have already moved from Russia to Kazakhstan are Honeywell, TikTok, Indriver, Fortescue, Alstom. Ozon also opens a logistics park in Astana.

In July last year, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the government of the country to create favorable conditions for the relocation of companies that left Russia. In October, Mr. Tokayev said that about 50 companies had moved to the country.
