The Federal Air Transport Agency reported 10 aircraft that went to alternate airfields in connection with a night attack by Ukrainian drones. About it reported in the department’s press office.
“Due to restrictions at alternate airfields, 10 aircraft landed. The crews of six more aircraft in flight recalculated the routes, assessed the sufficiency of fuel on board in the air, changed flight plans in agreement with the air traffic control services, and after the lifting of restrictions on the use of airspace, they landed at destination airports.
On the night of August 10, the Moscow region again attacked drones. According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, two drones were shot down, including in the Kaluga region. Against the background of the detection of drones in the sky, Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports restricted the landing and departure of aircraft. In particular, Vnukovo temporarily banned the acceptance and release of liners from 2:43 Moscow time, and Domodedovo from 2:59. At 5:15 Moscow time, restrictions were lifted at both airports, now they are operating as usual.
As specified in the Russian Ministry of Defense, the UAVs were destroyed over the Maloyaroslavsky district of the Kaluga region and the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region. There were no casualties or damage.
Attempts to attack drones on the capital have become more frequent since the end of July. On August 9, the Ministry of Defense also announced the suppression of the drone attack. Then the drones were shot down near Domodedovo and the Minsk highway. As a result of the incident, no one was injured, and there was no damage either.
