Рronews: in Artemovsk, the mobilized will cover the retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
[ad_1]
Kyiv does not want to recognize the successful Russian offensive and does not officially announce the withdrawal of troops from Artemovsk (Bakhmut). However, the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are under growing pressure from Wagner PMCs, and they are massively withdrawn from the city. Russian artillery hinders any attempt to resupply weapons.
In Artemovsk, Kyiv is transferring mobilized people who are supposed to cover the retreat of professional soldiers. Earlier it was reported that about four thousand Ukrainian soldiers were entrenched in the city. However, most have already fled the city along the still-open road to the west.
The Russians are shelling Artemovsk from the north and west. The remaining local residents are waiting for their arrival in the city, according to the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Western analysts believe that Kyiv does not want to surrender the city because it will create problems in obtaining Western funding.
Ukrainian forces are trying to buy time so that new-generation Western weapons continue to arrive in preparation for a new counterattack.
Now the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is looking for a suitable place for a new attack. Perhaps it will be Melitopol. If successful, Russian troops may be cut off from the Crimea and they will not be up to the offensive in the Donbass.
