The Zen content platform has updated the monetization system for authors. Authors will now be paid for how long their content is viewed by users. About it reported Zen press office.
The platform will start paying authors for the time they view content from August 1st. The time will be counted in minutes of involved viewing, which will be recorded by a special algorithm.
“For example, when a user opens a post and immediately closes it, that viewing time would not be considered engaged. Or if the author puts his video on autoplay for 24 hours to earn more, the platform will fix this and will not take this time into account, ”explains the work of the Zen algorithm.
From the start of the new rules, creators will be able to enable monetization when their subscribers have watched 30 hours of content in the last 30 days. Authors with already connected monetization will remain on the old system until the end of 2023.
“Zen” every day will form a fund of payments from their advertising income. The amount will be distributed among all authors with enabled monetization: the longer the user watches the content of the author, the greater will be his personal payout.
Previously, the platform paid for active subscribers, and advertising revenue was distributed depending on how many users subscribed to the channel and how actively they interacted with its content.
