Zelensky imposed sanctions against the lottery operator Sportloto

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions against the Russian operator of state lotteries Sportloto, follows from a document posted on the website of the head of state’s office.

Zelensky approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated March 10 “On the application and amendment of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)”. According to the document, the National Security and Defense Council introduces restrictions against 287 legal entities and 120 individuals.

In addition to Sportloto, the Ukrainian authorities included Russian bookmakers Sportbet, Betsiti, Matchbet and others in the list of sanctions. Mostly Russians fell under personal restrictions, but citizens of Cyprus, Great Britain, Poland, Turkey and the Netherlands also appear on the list, the Ukrainian Pravda edition clarifies.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is to inform the competent authorities of the European Union, the United States and other states about the application of sanctions and raise the issue of introducing similar restrictive measures with them,” Zelensky’s decree says.

At the end of February, Zelensky imposed sanctions against companies that are associated with a businessman, the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin, as well as against Russian athletes, public organizations and civil servants. On February 26, the head of state announced the signing of three decrees that impose sanctions on representatives of Russian sports, “those who help keep mercenary structures”, and other persons.

Earlier, Kyiv expanded sanctions against Russian citizens and companies on February 19. Then 333 Russians and one company fell under the restrictions. In particular, several top managers were blacklisted Alfa BankMoscow Credit Bank (ICD), Sovcombank, MTS, Dom.RFUralsib, etc. The sanctions also affected the Moscow Exchange.

Russian actors and military correspondents also fell under the restrictions. In particular, in January of this year, sanctions were imposed against TV presenters Dmitry Guberniev, Boris Korchevnikov, director Andrei Konchalovsky, blogger Dmitry Puchkov, producer Yana Rudkovskaya, singer Yuri Loza, and others.
