Zakhar Prilepin arrived at the “Big Book” ceremony

On the evening of December 5, the Big Book literary prize is awarded in Moscow. The MK correspondent arrived at the Pashkov House with the sole purpose of hearing three names out of fifteen names of the finalists, known to all of us since June 1, 2023. Based on the results of the work of the Literary Academy, which includes 104 experts, three winners were determined.
At this moment they have not yet been named – while the finalists are rising on stage, which in itself is an honor.
Among the finalists we saw Zakhar Prilepin. The Russian Guard writer came despite the recent attempt on his life and his health condition
The word introduction about Prilepin was read out and a video portrait was displayed on the screen, after which he appeared from the side door. The writer is still limping.
Most likely, Prilepin will receive one of the prizes today – otherwise he would not have come.
By the way, on social networks a few hours before the ceremony they urged not to rejoice at Zakhar Prilepin’s first place in the “popular vote” of readers: allegedly in this way they were preparing to “remove” him from the top three winners.
