According to the interlocutors, Gordienkov has been at the enterprise for several weeks as a special representative of Rosatom and takes over from the current general director Alexei Kadilov. The next five-year contract with him expires on April 16 and will not be extended (Vedomosti wrote about this on March 14).
Baltiysky Zavod specializes in nuclear shipbuilding. Since 2020, the enterprise has handed over to Atomflot (FSUE under the control of Rosatom) three icebreakers of project 22220 with a capacity of 60 MW – Arktika (lead), Sibir and Ural. Now under construction are two icebreakers of the series – “Yakutia” (launched) and “Chukotka” (on the slipway). Two more vessels have been ordered by Atomflot, their construction will begin in 2024 and 2025.
