“The Board of Directors of the Baltic Shipyard decided to elect Yury Stepanovich Gordienkov to the position of General Director of the plant for a period of five years. His candidacy was also approved by the USC Board of Directors,” the corporation said in a statement.
According to USC General Director Alexei Rakhmanov, quoted by the press service, Gordienkov was given the task of developing the Baltic Shipyard, including “in terms of increasing production volumes and increasing labor productivity.” Rakhmanov also added that the company needs modernization and transition to large-block construction methods.

Now under construction are two icebreakers of the series – “Yakutia” (launched) and “Chukotka” (on the slipway). Two more vessels have been ordered by Atomflot, their construction will begin in 2024 and 2025. In addition, Atomflot will soon sign a contract with Baltzavod for the construction of a nuclear tanker for 25 billion rubles. and the enterprise will complete the construction of four modernized floating power units for the Baimsky GOK, the first stage of construction of which is underway in China.
It is planned that by the end of 2023 control over the shipyard will be transferred from USC Rosatom. This was stated in January by USC General Director Aleksey Rakhmanov, and on April 10 Kadilov confirmed it.
