The partnership between Yandex and Maer for advertising on taxis expired in December of this year. According to one of the sources, the refusal to extend cooperation was mutual. Another source claims that Yandex terminated the agreement because it was dissatisfied with the results of the project.
Konstantin Mayor explained that the project was a test project, and to attract the required audience coverage, it was necessary to launch ten times more screens. However, according to him, Yandex “did not install a single additional screen,” the coverage remained small, so Maer does not see any point in extending the work.
At the same time, Yandex, according to sources, does not plan to close the advertising project, but intends to negotiate with another operator. The source claims that the most likely candidate is outdoor advertising operator Rome. Rome Marketing Director Igor Bazhan confirmed that the company will sell and place advertising on taxis from January 2024.
