“Yandex» has combined its delivery services “Food”, “Lavka”, “Market” and “Market Delivery”, which entered the company last year, into a new e-commerce direction. This was reported by the Yandex press service.
The head of the new direction will be Roman Maresov, who previously headed the Yandex Food and Market Delivery team. The new head of these services will be Evgeny Anishchenkov, who previously oversaw the retail divisions of these services. The company noted that Maresov will also be separately responsible for Yandex Market.
Combining these services into one direction will allow us to strengthen the technological integration of the sites and use each other’s logistics infrastructure, the company clarified. In particular, the “click-to-click” option will be added to the delivery methods, which is actively used on the “Yandex Market”.
The deal for Yandex to purchase Delivery Club and sell the Zen recommendation platform and the Novosti aggregator was closed in September 2022. The media assets were transferred to VK. In June of this year, the Delivery Club platform rebranded and was renamed Market Delivery.
The head of the new direction, Roman Maresov, is 29 years old; he graduated from the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics (CMK) of Moscow State University. Maresov has been working at Yandex since 2017, including holding senior positions at Yandex.Taxi. Under his leadership, the Yandex Go super app was launched. In 2021, he was appointed to the position of head of Yandex Food, and under his leadership the service entered the Armenian market. Before Yandex, Maresov worked at McKinsey & Company (now Yakov and Partners).
