Yandex.Go registered a legal entity in Uzbekistan

Taxi service Yandex.Go has registered a legal entity in Uzbekistan after the threat of blocking the application in the country. This was announced by the head of the company in the CIS, Kirill Svintsov.
“The company has already registered a legal entity and is in the tax register. Now we are completing all processes and are in constant dialogue with the State Tax Committee [налоговый комитет республики]“Svintsov said at the ICT Expo Uzbekistan forum in Tashkent (quote on “Prime”).
He added that the goal of these processes is to begin local operation of the application in Uzbekistan from December 1.
October 6 Tax Committee of Uzbekistan reported about the requirements for the service Yandex.Go. The company needed to register as a tax resident of the republic, ensure integration with the information system of the country’s tax authorities and provide customers with an automatically generated fiscal receipt.
In case of failure to fulfill obligations before December 1, the department could send an appeal to the Ministry of Digital Development of Uzbekistan with a demand to block the service.
In the fall of 2022 “Yandex» announced plans to split the group’s assets. Some businesses, including autonomous cars, cloud technologies and others will continue to operate in Russia, but their international parts will be separated into independent companies under the management of an organization in the Netherlands.
