Yakutia Airlines has restored the SSSJ100 aircraft, the press service of the State Transport Leasing Company reports (STLC).
The message says that this is one of two aircraft that were previously leased to the carrier. STLC and as of the end of 2022 were in a dismantled state.
“The main landing gear was replaced, two SAM-146 engines and an auxiliary power unit were repaired. It should be noted that maintaining the airworthiness of aircraft is the responsibility of the lessee,” the press service notes.
The control and test flight of the SSJ100 took place on February 15 at Yakutsk airport. It is expected that the aircraft will soon start operating regular flights of Yakutia Airlines on Far Eastern routes.
In November 2022, Andrey Vinokurov, CEO of Yakutia informedthat the airline can terminate the contract c STLC to rent one of the two dismantled SSJ100s. Vinokurov admitted that the engines of this superjet could not yet be repaired, as their hot part was damaged. SaM146 repairs can only be carried out by PowerJet at its facilities located in France.
The second superjet is “not very dismantled”: one engine has already been repaired in Russia (there was a problem with the cold part), the second airline also expects to bring it into a usable condition by the United Engine Corporation, and on “components we are working closely with Irkut,” he noted .
