X5 Retail Group (manages the Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Chizhik retail chains) has agreed on a strategic alliance with the Krasny Yar and Slata groups of companies. Now it will receive a 70% stake in East Siberian retailers. Message about it appeared on the company’s website.
“The strategic alliance will be implemented through the acquisition of controlling shares in the capitals of both groups of companies. Upon receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals, X5 will acquire a 70% stake in the Krasny Yar and Slata businesses.
The press service specified that the petitions would be sent to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. It is noted that the networks will continue to work under their own brands. But part of the operational processes will still be integrated into X5 to make it easier to deal with purchases and build logistics.
Krasny Yar Group of Companies owns 226 Krasny Yar and Baton stores in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Tuva and Khakassia. Their trading area is 103.5 thousand square meters. m. Another 362 stores with a sales area of 132.3 thousand square meters. m belongs to the group of companies “Slata”. They are located in the Irkutsk region, Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory.
X5 in the Siberian Federal District it is represented by the Pyaterochka chain (1095 stores). The company believes that the partnership with Krasny Yar and Slata will help X5 expand its presence in Eastern Siberia. “This cooperation will improve the quality of the offer to buyers in Eastern Siberia and ensure uninterrupted supply of the region at affordable prices,” said Igor Shekhterman, CEO of X5.
Previously, X5 Group announced the launch of a pilot foodsharing project, a donation to people in need of food that has expired but is still safe to consume. The company will implement the program jointly with ANO Foodsharing and the Rus Food Fund. Now several Pyaterochka stores in Moscow and Chelyabinsk are connected to the project.
