X5 Group announced the purchase of Tamerlan stores

“As part of the deal, X5 acquires 100% of Tamerlan LLC, the operating structure of the Pakupochka discounter chain, the PokupAlko discounter chain with an expanded range of alcoholic products, and Ga-Ga supermarkets,” the statement said. The company added that FAS approval had already been received.

The company also noted that as part of the deal, X5 Group will receive lease rights to a distribution center in the Volgograd region with a total area of ​​30,000 square meters. m. In addition, X5 Group received 295 stores with an area of ​​124,200 sq. m. m, most of which work in the Volgograd region.

The amount of the transaction is not specified. Earlier, the CEO of Infoline-analytics, Mikhail Burmistrov, estimated the market value of Tamerlan at 4-6 billion rubles, Vedomosti wrote. According to him, “Tamerlan” occupies a strong position in several regions at once – in the Volgograd region (where the company’s share in the grocery retail market is about 8%), the Astrakhan region (about 3%) and in Kalmykia (the share exceeds 5%) .

According to Igor Shekhterman, the company’s chief executive officer, the closing of the deal to buy Tamerlan from X5 Group will provide an opportunity to “expand its presence in the south of Russia and take a leading position in this region.”
