Online retailer Wildberries said that information about the increase in the cost of returning goods is not true. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to the press service of the company.

On September 2, the Caution, Moscow Telegram channel, citing Wildberries customers, announced an increase in the fine for returning goods to 100 rubles. In Wildberries edition reportedthat the information about the increase in the fine is false.

Earlier, users of the marketplace said in the VKontakte community that the site began to massively fine for the return of goods: in the spring, customers began to receive warnings that Wildberries would charge 100 rubles for each returned product. Since 2020, the site has been testing different delivery models, and for users with a high percentage of returns and a low redemption amount, a reverse logistics payment rate is applied. Wildberries denied the introduction of “massive fines” for refusing goods.

The company also said it is testing return payments on about 5% of customers who return 90% of purchases. However, members of the VKontakte community, who have never returned purchases to Wildberries, received warnings about possible return penalties.
