Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden dies

British guitarist Bernie Marsden has died at the age of 72. In 1978, he formed the band Whitesnake with former Deep Purple vocalist David Coverdale.
Mr Marsden “died peacefully Thursday night” surrounded by his wife and daughters. The Guardian family statement. “Bernie never lost his passion for music, writing and recording new songs until the very end,” the post reads.
Bernie Marsden was born in Buckingham in 1951. He began his career in 1972 with the rock band UFO. He was a member of the band Paice Ashton Lord, which was created after the collapse of Deep Purple, and in 1978, together with David Coverdale and guitarist Mickey Moody, founded Whitesnake. He took part in the recording of the first ER, five albums and one live album of the group. He was the author or co-author of such compositions as Fool for Your Loving, She’s a Woman, Walking in the Shadow of the Blues, Trouble, Here I Go Again.
