In 2024, the volume of harvested wheat could be 93 million tons. Of this, about 50 million tons could be intended for export. The total grain harvest in Russia could reach 147 million tons, said Dmitry Rylko, Director General of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR).

Mr. Rylko emphasized that 93 million tons of harvested wheat is a preliminary forecast. “Even 93 million tons is a lot. This again guarantees us a close to record export of wheat, what everyone expects from us, the whole world – 50 million tons,” he said at the VIII industry conference “Crop Growing of Russia” in Moscow (quote from TASS).

In addition, he noted that the total volume of grain in 2024 will be 147 million tons. Mr. Rylko emphasized that the volume of grain could be greater, since there are no signs of crop failure in any grain-producing region of Russia.

In 2023, the grain harvest in Russia amounted to 143 million tons, taking into account new regions – 147 million tons. In 2022, a record was set for the gross grain harvest – 157.7 million tons. The previous record was in 2017 – then in Russia 135.5 million tons of grain were collected, including 86 million tons of wheat.

At the beginning of January, the leader in the ranking of the largest grain exporters changed. According to the results of the first half of the season, the top line in shipments with 6.3 million tons was taken by Green Gates, headed by a former top manager of Demetra-Holding, while the results of the Reef Trade House, which dropped to second place, were affected by unfavorable weather in the port of Kavkaz .
