Kondrashov Andrei Olegovich was born on June 30, 1973 in Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan). Graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of the Moscow Independent Ecological and Political Science University, received a master’s degree from the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation with a degree in political science.
Since 1991, he worked in the Vesti program, was his own correspondent for Central Asia, then – a special correspondent, worked in the Kremlin pool. He covered events in Chechnya, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Afghanistan, the Balkans, and Tajikistan. Since 2003, he has been a political observer for Vesti, and in 2005 he became the host of the program. In 2007, he was the host of the Vesti Nedeli program, in 2008, together with Maria Sittel, he became the host of the evening editions of the Vesti program. At the same time, he was the author of the analytical program “Signs” on the radio station “Vesti-FM”.
In 2016, he headed the directorate of information programs at Vesti, in 2018 he became the first deputy general director of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. In 2018, he was the press secretary of the campaign headquarters of presidential candidate Vladimir Putin. In the same year, he was the host of the Direct Line with Vladimir Putin program. In 2023, he was included in Western sanctions lists for supporting a special operation in Ukraine.
He is the author of documentaries “Afghan”, “Berezovsky”, “Crimea. Way home”, “Valaam”, “Putin”. Member of the Academy of Russian Television, the Presidium of the International Academy of People’s Diplomacy.
He was awarded the Orders of Friendship and “For Services to the Fatherland” IV degree, medals of the Order “For Services to the Fatherland” I and II degrees. He is a laureate of the TEFI award in the nomination “Host of Information Programs”. Married, has a daughter.
