Likhacheva Elizaveta Stanislavovna was born on July 20, 1978 in Moscow. In the 2000s, she studied at the Faculty of Law of the Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 2014 she graduated with honors from the Department of History and Theory of Art of the Faculty of History of Moscow State University.

In the early 2000s, she worked in the bodies of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation. In 2006, she began working at the Shchusev Museum of Architecture. Participated in the creation of a photo catalog and rules for working with the collection. From 2010 to 2012, she held the position of Chief PR and Publishing Specialist.

In 2014, she became deputy director of the State Museum of Konstantin and Viktor Melnikov, which is a branch of the Shchusev Museum of Architecture.

In March 2017, she took up the position of director of the Shchusev Museum of Architecture. Museum staff then distributed an open letter to the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky with a request to prevent the appointment of Elizaveta Likhacheva. As an argument against her candidacy, her lack of “an academic degree, scientific experience and weight”, as well as “experience in leadership work and conducting administrative and economic activities” was cited.
