Star Wars and Harry Potter actor Paul Grant has died at the age of 56. The insensible body of the artist was found near King’s Cross station in London.
Paul Grant, the actor behind Star Wars and Harry Potter, has died at the age of 56 after being found unconscious near a train station.
The grant was found near King’s Cross station in north London on Thursday afternoon, writes The Guardian. The artist was declared dead at 3.49 am on Monday, but before that, brain death was declared after his collapse. The cause of death was not disclosed.
Having played an Ewok in Return of the Jedi and a Goblin in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Paul Grant appeared as one of the goblin squad in the 1986 cult classic Labyrinth alongside David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly.
His other films include the 1985 film Legend with Tom Cruise and the 1988 film Willow.
His daughter, Sophie Jane Grant, confirmed the actor’s death to Sky News.
She said, “I’m heartbroken… No girl deserves to have her father taken from her… He was so well known and loved [за свою работу]. He left too soon.”
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 2.08pm on Thursday 16 March in connection with reports of an incident at St Pancras Station, Euston Road. We sent an ambulance and a medic in a response vehicle. We treated the man at the scene and took him to the hospital as a matter of priority.”
Grant is survived by his girlfriend Maria Dwyer, his two daughters and one son, as well as stepchildren and grandchildren.
Maria Dwyer paid tribute to the actor, saying: “Paul was the love of my life. The funniest person I know. He made my life complete. Life without him will never be the same.”
Grant’s stepdaughter Stacey set up an Internet page to raise funds for his funeral. “I am starting this page because Paul unfortunately passed away yesterday and I would like to give him the best send-off he could wish for,” she said.
