By data “AUTOSTAT”, 22,854 new passenger cars were sold in Russia from 17 to 23 July. This is the highest weekly figure since March 2022 (then 55,129 vehicles were sold). LADA Granta remained the leader among Russian cars, and the Chery Tiggo 7 PRO Max crossover turned out to be the most popular among foreign cars.
The top 5 in sales included:
- LADA Granta (3937 copies);
- Chery Tiggo 7 PRO Max (1100);
- LADA Vesta (1096);
- crossover Haval Jolion (1007);
- crossover OMODA C5 (864).
LADA also leads the brand popularity ranking, followed by six Chinese brands – Chery, Haval, Geely, Changan, EXEED and OMODA.
Meanwhile, the Japanese authorities are considering imposing a ban on the export to Russia of most of the range of used cars that still continued to be supplied to the Russian market. We are talking about repeating the latest EU restrictions – the sanctions will affect all passenger cars, including electric vehicles and hybrids, with the exception of those equipped with an engine of up to 1.9 liters.
