The capital’s establishments are actively preparing for Halloween. As Moscow restaurateurs told Kommersant FM, in 2023 they note great interest in the event among guests. In 2022, many catering outlets abandoned their usual program and decorations or reduced the budget for the holiday.

This time it is planned to celebrate Halloween on a grand scale, say Moscow restaurateurs. In addition to traditional parties, they prepare special quests, shows and update the menu:

Evgenia Levandovskaya, owner of the Mister Chang restaurant chain, Beer & Tapas bar and other Moscow bars: “In some establishments that are similar in concept to the scale of this party, we are preparing. Halloween will be held at Beer & Tapas in Greenwich and all Mister Chang restaurants. We will have both animators and decorations. Beer & Tapas will host various competitions dedicated to this holiday. Suggestions were received from the managers of each restaurant that it would be interesting to celebrate this holiday. How it will go, I don’t know. Afterwards we will understand the statistics. The question is that every year both the purchase of accessories and the entire program become more and more expensive.”

Dmitry Sokolov, owner of Help & Friends, Lawson’s and other Moscow bars: “We will do quests so that guests will go to all our bars, look for answers to questions, riddles, and receive prizes. We expect a large flow of customers to bars on Halloween – up to 500 people in each. We decorate the hall, do face painting for the staff, call animators who walk around the hall with the guests and take pictures. The bars will have special cocktails, shots, and finger-shaped desserts. We usually add little snacks to the menu in the form of fingers, eyes and everything else.”

Ekaterina Gamova, brand director and partner of the Anderson cafe chain: “There will be a dessert line with monsters – cakes, pastries. Our guests – both children and adults – like finger-shaped cakes. There will be a monster show, we have prepared a quest for the little ones. Vampire party – for older children. From October 23 to October 31, we have a poster with master classes, they are all different, you can make something, draw and paint pumpkins, assemble a stand for a mug. The master classes are mostly attended by regular clients. We ask what they are interested in in the fall? They say we are interested in Halloween, costumes, props, products. They mixed it so that prices wouldn’t rise too much.”

According to Wildberries analysts, more than 80% of Russians are planning to celebrate Halloween this year in one way or another.
