Yesterday, Warren Buffett’s investment company Berkshire Hathaway notified US regulators that it no longer has shares in Taiwanese company TSMC, the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturer. Thus, Warren Buffett completely got rid of his stake in TSMC, for which back in November last year spent $4.1 billion (60.1 million shares). Berkshire’s largest investment so far has been Apple, in which the investment company holds a $306.2 billion stake.

Already in February it became knownthat Berkshire Hathaway sold 86% of its shares in TSMC. Warren Buffett explained it is the growing tension between China and Taiwan and the desire to find “better places” to place their capital. Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett and TSMC have yet to comment on the reported share sale. The stock market reacted calmly to this information – TSMC shares rose in price by 2.4% today.
